PEN-CAFoRR Final Conference – CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Belgrade, September 4-5, 2024

VENUE: Faculty of Forestry – University of Belgrade, Kneza Višeslava 1, 11030 Belgrade, Serbia

The aims of this Conference are twofold: 1) to present results of the four-year activity of The Pan-European Network for Climate Adaptive Forest Restoration and Reforestation, which is supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology); and 2) to gather researchers outside of the current network to present their findings in the research and practice of forest restoration and reforestation. The Conference will also provide space for other forest and forestry focused COST Actions to present their achievements and activities. A voluntary field trip to restoration sites will be conducted on September 6, 2024.

REGISTRATION FEES

There are no registration fees! The Conference is supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) and will follow their rules.

Attendance does not require submission of a paper/poster!

PRESENTATION STYLES AND FORMATS

The conference will be comprised of plenary sessions at the beginning of each day and parallel sessions track, depending on the number of presentations in each session. Plenary sessions will be a dedicated time of 40 minutes for keynote speakers (30 + 10 for Q&A).

Submissions for technical sessions should propose one of the following formats (note that the Scientific Committee may contact you to suggest a different format for a talk or session):

• Presentations(15 minutes, inclusive of Q&A): Conventional presentation to a theatre audience of up to 50.

• Posters (AO, full color): Must include all necessary details and to be graphically attractive.

Presenters must be present in person at the conference! The language spoken at the Conference is English.

THE CONFERENCE PUBLICATIONS AND DISSEMINATION

The presentations will be published online in two separate publications:

1. Book of Abstracts (containing the abstracts of all presentations including posters)

1. The Special Issue in REFORESTA Journal (edited by Donato Chiatante, containing selected full-length papers).

THE REVIEW PROCESS, TIPS, AND GUIDELINES

All submissions will be reviewed by an international scientific committee, comprised of experts and practitioners representing a diverse set of teams and organizations. They will select the best and presentations most relevant to the themes of the Conference. The Conference participants are encouraged to submit a formal full-length paper for consideration in a special journal issue.

Presenters must provide an abstract (no more than 300 words) to explain the topic of their talk/poster in a way engages peoples’ interest. You are welcome to include additional materials (maximum of 2 pcs, e.g. a picture, a graph, or a scheme of experimental design) to support any of your points. Submissions must be complete by the closing date (see “Important Dates”) to be considered.
